The simplest, surest, best way to clean your eyeglasses – and it’s so easy

I’m not sure where I discovered how to do this, but I too had been frustrated for years by not being able to get a perfect clean on my $500 eyeglasses. Or $200. Or my $20 readers.

I don’t do smudges; they trigger my Virgo need-to-clean sensibilities.

Microfiber wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t perfect either — and you really had to find that one perfect piece of cloth for a perfect clean to be in reach. Things like Windex aren’t advisable either, I’ve read, thanks to the lenses, their material and coating. I have to be honest that I’ve never tried Windex because it had always been advised not to.

And then I stumbled upon a solution that I swear to you works 100 times out of 100.

Here’s what you need:

• Plain dishwashing liquid
• Access to warm water
• Can of air

Put a dollop of Dawn or your favorite dishwashing liquid onto each lens, both sides. Rub it all in with your fingers. Rinse with warm water. Dry it with your can of air.

Trust me. It works.
