I’m not a PETA guy. I eat meat, and I don’t mind if you wear a fur.
However, I’m passionate about pets. Not insane, just passionate. I’m a firm believer in stiff punishments for animal abusers, even moreso than are on the books. On the other hand, I’m never going to tell you how to raise your pet, certainly never in person and never through the course of legislation with the exception of reasonable abuse guidelines and spay/neuter policies.
Long story short, a YouTube friend alerted me to a program sponsored by Dogpile — the search engine that compiles search results. Use dogpile.com, and raise money for ASPCA. Here’s what dogpile.com says:
Whether your searches are conducted directly from the Dogpile site, from a Dogpile desktop toolbar, or a Dogpile widget on a social networking page, a portion of the revenue generated will help animals in need. The more you search, the more you can help us rescue pets and reach our ultimate goal of raising $1 million by the end of 2009. Search & Rescue is an exciting opportunity for all pet lovers.
For the record, the ASPCA is a strong no-kill pet proponent, and I am too. Seriously, if you love pets, you gotta start using dogpile.com. Not only is it a worthy cause, but I had forgotten what a solid compiler of info it is.
